Engaging and Successful Facebook Posts for Small Business
what we have learnt
what we have learnt
We often get asked to give advice to improve our clients’ web presence, not just web servers and hosting, so lately we have been looking into how to create better Facebook posts for your marketing efforts. We believe in order to achieve our goal of creating online success for our clients we need to be aware of all the factors that affect their online success. Along with stable and robust hosting and website structure, your online success is largely created through the leveraging of all the potential streams of media directing people to your site. Your Facebook post will be seen the way you would see a billboard zooming past it on the highway with distractions from all angles. So make your post something that will make you smile or garner interest enough that you want to tell someone about it when you get to where you are going. Something people want to engage with and share with others. But how often do you feel like you are spinning the wheels and sending out content no one seems to read and certainly aren’t engaging with? There are several things we have learnt that can set you on a path to increased clicks and conversions.

All different businesses need to use a different style of funnel to filter the leads into their business. Understanding what funnels work best for your style of business and your target audience is one of the keys to Facebook post engagement and ultimate success.
What funnel you use depends on the type of outcome you want to achieve. Do you want to generate click-throughs to your website and more page likes? Then you should use an Engagement Post – a post that will encourage people to comment, like or share your post. Do you want people to sign-up to something or capture their email address? Then give them a great offer and follow through with a link through to your website or signup form to enter their email address and claim the offer.
Do you want to generate click-throughs to your website and more page likes? Then you should use an Engagement Post…
Make sure your post links to the right page on your site and it is best if it links to specific landing pages that have a direct correlation to the post your new customer just viewed. Ingenuity work closely with our partner, Kintek, to setup on-site landing pages created specifically to direct Facebook and other posts to. These pages must have targeted content, because once you get them to click through you need to convert them, and to convert them you need to have a good webpage setup. You need to provide an opportunity to take-up your offer, contact you or sign-up to your mailing list.
Images and videos are important to get any engagement or interest in your post. If you can’t use a professional and don’t have a lot of photos to use already, just get out your iPhone and do the best you can with what you have! Don’t forget – this is social media, why not take a snap of you and your team hard at work, or screenshot of a funny email chain. Think about what your audience wants to see, it may be a funny meme, it may be a delicious meal, it may be that morning’s workout, it may be a solution to a problem. You can also read some tutorials on how to best position your specific product. It is a good idea to have your own content, whether you take the photo yourself or you get a stock image and add some graphic design skills to it, you could also make the most of a post generation app.
If you have done the other things above, you are on the right track to engaging posts. Now do things like creating a lead-in for engagement. For example: ‘Like’ for, ‘Share’ for, ‘Caption this photo’, quotes (your own or others, use an app, add an image, add appealing fonts), funny memes tagged with ‘Like if you agree with us’.
There are online tools and local service providers that offer to help figure all these things out for you too. If you need a hand to get started, give Ingenuity a call or email, and we can point you in the right direction.
